Mountains where history has been written: "Weltberge - Die 4. Dimension" is Reinhold Messners newest and at the same time most visually powerful lecture, which he will held on the 30.09.2021 in the Wiener Stadthalle.
It shows thirteen selected world mountains in a unknown way. Digital images were created at the German Aerospace Center on the basis of satellite images. From these images, scientists, whose images Messner exclusively presents here, created three-dimensional, photorealistic images. In this way "virtual" representations from previously unimaginable perspectives and with unprecedented accuracy became possible.
The viewer thus becomes a participant in historical expeditions and at the same time a witness of new, upcoming alpine challenges. Never before has it been possible to trace or plan climbing routes so precisely.
With his knowledge and experience from his expeditions, Reinhold Messner fills the technically brilliant pictures with life. The lecture combines alpine experience reports with the latest satellite-supported visualisation technology, knowledge of mountaineering history and photographic know-how to create an overall picture.
